The Settlement Home for Children is a licensed nonprofit organization that provides a comprehensive range of therapeutic and educational programs for individuals who have experienced significant emotional trauma, abuse, or neglect. Located on a 10-acre campus in Austin, Texas, the Home offers multiple forms of support, including a Residential Treatment Center, Group Home Program, and Transitional Living Program. The organization’s therapeutic model is centered around 24-hour care with a nurturing “houseparent” system that builds consistency and trust for each resident, fostering a safe, family-like environment.
The Settlement Home also offers a dedicated Foster and Adoption Program, Post-Adoption Services, and an on-campus University of Texas Charter School, providing structured education and emotional support tailored to each child’s needs. These programs enable children and young adults to access the resources and stability needed to rebuild their lives and achieve long-term well-being. Through its multi-faceted care and treatment approach, The Settlement Home strives to empower its residents to grow, heal, and thrive within a nurturing community.

Is there a fee associated with donating a chair for the auction?
Nope, there are no fees to enter a chair for auction!
Is there a limit on how little or how much I can spend on reimagining a chair?
There are no limits or guides to how much or how little can be spent on the chair makeover, that is fully up to you and your company!
If I choose to reimagine a chair, when do I need to have it done and delivered?
We will be sending periodic updates on schedules, but as of now, we aim to have all finished chairs collected by January 31st, 2025.
